HOME IS WHERE YOU PARK IT

New Zealand

This photo series was born during my months in New Zealand, where I met and photographed young travellers embracing a semi-nomadic way of life. Over time, I realised that there is a real, widespread community across the country: people who share not only a way of travelling, but also common values and a distinct lifestyle.

Every year, thousands of young travellers arrive in New Zealand on a Working Holiday Visa: a permit designed for young people that allows them to stay temporarily in the country and work legally to support themselves while exploring it.

What often begins as a short-term job opportunity turns into a lifestyle: a mix of work, travel, and community, lived on the road.

This project aims to document a community through the portraits of its individuals: young travellers and their vehicles, captured while I was part of that same community myself. What began as a journey soon became a meaningful life experience, where I met many inspiring and fascinating people whose stories enriched the experience even further. Most importantly, it allowed me to create true bonds and real friendships with people from around the world.
